Galway County Local Live Performance Scheme

Experience live music in the Athenry Arts & Heritage Centre which is supported by Galway County Council and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Local Live Performance Scheme. The LLPS funding will be used to support employment and wellbeing in the commercial arts and culture sectors through the provision of live performances by engaging the services of locally based professional artists, musicians, crew and staff members involved in live performances.

 

The Athenry Arts & Heritage Centre is pleased to announce two great live events on the 18th & 19th June in the grounds of the centre. Admission will be strictly limited to 50 people per event and tickets are available through our booking page.

Paddy Casey has been at the forefront of the Irish music scene since his debut album Amen (So Be It) in 1999, while his second release Living became the biggest seller in Ireland out-selling U2.

Paddy Casey’s career has taken him all over the globe touring with acts like The Pretenders, R.E.M, Ian Brown, Blondie and Tracy Chapman to name a few. Closer to home he has played all over Ireland, including a sold-out Dublin Castle, RDS and a record-breaking week-long run in The Olympia Theatre, alongside special guest spots with U2, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan and more. Book Tickets

Julie Feeney

We welcome back the amazing Julie Feeney to the Athenry Arts & Heritage Centre for another intimate performance for Ceol an tSamhraidh. 

Julie Feeney’s sell out shows have riveted audiences and critics all over the world including Amsterdam, Mexico, Italy, Germany, France, China, Brazil, U.S.A, Canada, U.K. and Ireland. She performs as a one woman show with ensemble with choirs or with full orchestra; and she composes, arranges and orchestrates all of her own music and words. Her three albums have been widely critically acclaimed internationally, receiving numerous awards and she has created a whole host of stunning music videos to accompany them. Sharp witted unpretentious and fiercely passionate, Julie Feeney is a genuine artist and a hugely enjoyable performer.

Padraig Stevens & Leo Moran 7:30pm

Enjoy the lyrics and music of Tuam's Padraig Stevens and Leo Moran. 

Padraig has been associated with the Saw Doctors since there inception and his songs have been recorded and performed by Matt Keane, Elanor Shanley and Mike Denver. He recently scored a hit with 'The Sugar Beat' recorded by Christy Moore.

He has toured with The Waterboys, The Stunning, De Danann and many more. Padraig is best known for his recordings with The Saw Doctors and since 2017 has performed with Leo Moran to showcase his songs.
